Skin polishing (microdermabrasion)

A diamond-tip device gently polishes away the top layer of dead skin and lifts dirt out of the pores. Skin feels smoother straight away and takes up skincare better.

Skin polishing (microdermabrasion)

How it works

Skin polishing, or microdermabrasion, uses a wand with a fine diamond tip and gentle suction. As it glides over the skin it buffs off the outermost layer of dead, rough cells and lifts dirt from the pores at the same time.

It can be done on the face, neck, hands and back, and is often added to a medi-facial. With the dead layer gone, serums and moisturisers work better afterwards.

Good for

  • Rough, uneven texture
  • Tan and mild marks
  • Blackheads

How many sessions?

A course of 4 to 6 sessions gives the best results.

What affects the cost

The cost depends on the area (face, neck, back or hands) and whether it is part of a medi-facial.

We tell you the full cost of your plan before you start, so there are no surprises. For today’s price, or a running offer, just ask on WhatsApp.

Before you book, tell us if

  • Your skin is sunburnt or freshly tanned (we wait for it to settle)
  • There is an active infection, cold sore or open wound in the area
  • You have taken isotretinoin acne tablets in the last 6 months
  • You have many active, inflamed pimples in the area

Aftercare

  • Use sunscreen every morning
  • Skip scrubs for 3 days

Questions people ask

Can it be combined with a facial?

Yes, it is often done as part of a medi-facial.

Can I get my back or neck polished?

Yes. Back polishing is popular before weddings and for backless blouses.

Is skin polishing the same as a scrub?

No. A home scrub uses rough grains that can scratch. Polishing is controlled and even, and lifts dirt with suction.
